Well, today was my due date and I am still quite pregnant. I used to try and try to get myself to go into labor-I know all the tricks. Bumpy car trips, running up and down stairs, a vigorous day of yardwork, spicey food.. But I have come to expect that I will always be quite late. I have only gone into labor once unaided, and that was because I had my dates wrong. That was with Shayleen, 17 years ago on Wed. Amazing it could be that long ago. Do I have a 17 year old daughter? It seems so impossible! It doesn't seem like 17 years old was that long ago for me!
Happy Birthday Shay.
Happy Birthday to your dear 17-year old!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about trying to go into labor. With seven little children in tow, I went to the NW Washington Fair on a very hot day, my due date for baby #8. I got hot and tired but Lydia didn't make her appearance until about two weeks later. I always run that much over.
Exciting times at your place! May the Lord bless you and sustain you. <3
hope the baby surprises you any moment.. and happy birthday to your beautiful daughter!
ReplyDeleteMy son was one week late and I nearly had a heart attack when I woke to ice on his due date. I was scared the dr wasn't going to be able to drive in to the hospital. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Shayleen! She's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you go into labor soon. :) The only experience I had inducing labor was after my water broke. I hadn't gone into labor and the "deadline" was approaching, so I chugged castor oil in Pepsi (only way I could get it down) every half hour or so. It did seem to work, but man did it taste awful.
God bless and keep you and the little one.
I'm late getting to this party so maybe you are having the baby now! Your daughter is so lovely. Happy birthday to her and praying all goes well with the new little one!
ReplyDeleteMay your labor be short and sweet! :-D
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog through Mrs Darling. I hope you have your baby soon. I've got 5 children and luckily I've always had them before their due date, so I can't imagine what it's like to be waiting around. Although judging by the cookies on Mrs D's blog, you're keeping yourself busy!
ReplyDeleteHi Bridget, welcome!
ReplyDeleteLana, likewise to you. :)
Sarah, I have taken castor oil so many times-sometimes more than once per pregnancy. I've tried it with Coke, rootbeer, and even warmed orange juice, which was the worst! Thank God now my midwife gives me a little white pill. Much easier on the palate-and the stomach!
